Skagit County’s “Macaroni Kid” publisher Katie Shrock is the newest member of the Arrowhead team.

CAMANO ISLAND, Wash. (Oct. 30, 2019) – Skagit County’s “Macaroni Kid” publisher Katie Shrock joined the Arrowhead Ranch team this fall. Shrock will lend her social media skills and community knowledge as an administrator and community engagement specialist as the Arrowhead Ranch continues to grow.

Shrock has lived on Camano Island with her husband and their three children for three years to open One A-Chord Music, offering music lessons to the community. As Skagit County’s “Macaroni Kid” publisher since April, Shrock has been highly involved in the community’s events. She has highlighted and shared Skagit County and Camano Island events on the Skagit County’s Macaroni Kid blog, social media, and newsletters.

“It’s a natural fit,” said Marla Heagle, who owns the ranch with her husband, Randy. “Katie will help with projects as we expand and improve the Ranch to offer more to our community, and she’ll help us engage and get the word out about everything that is happening, like our new classes and the 2020 Soap Box Derby!”

Shrock worked with the Arrowhead Ranch on several of its events over the last year, including the Team USA Luge event in April and the annual Windermere Stanwood Camano Island Soap Box Derby.

“I’m excited to be part of the team,” said Shrock. “I’m proud to be part of the Stanwood-Camano community and I love that Randy and Marla [Heagle] have set the Arrowhead Ranch up as a place to bring people together.”

What started as the home of the Stanwood Camano Island Soap Box Derby is now an adventure destination on Camano Island. Arrowhead Ranch now offers axe-throwing at Arrowhead Axe and a variety of artisan classes in the Ranch’s craftsman makerspace, including monthly charcuterie board making classes and a new seasonal wreath-making class starting in December.
