Tickets for the tasting event and the preceding auction benefited the Community Resource Center of Stanwood Camano.
Guests were asked to vote on best taste, presentation and dessert.
Rebecca Jette, owner of Stanwood Cupcakes, said participating in the Bite of Stanwood Camano was a bucket list item for her and she saw it as a way to give back to the community.
The vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with cookies and cream frosting entered for best dessert was one of her original recipes from her time as a home baker.
Nick Stengler came to the event as a guest and had a good idea of what his favorite food was going to be.
“I have it once a week,” he said between bites of the smash burger from The Baked Cafe.
Debi Hogenson said she didn’t have a bad thing at the event and enjoyed meeting the people behind the food.
During the auction, board president Brooke Knight spoke on the variety of people who benefit from the resource center while staff members read testimonials from families who received help.
All in all, the event saw 150 attendees and initial numbers show the Community Resource Center raised $60,000.
Baked Cafe won Best Bite and Juniper Bites won Best Presentation.
